Clinical Approach
Dr. Zomer provides assessment and psychotherapeutic services to adults and adolescents on a wide range of issues in her private practice. She applies well-researched and scientifically grounded therapies and strategies to help her clients. Using an eclectic, integrative approach, Dr. Zomer draws on cognitive-behavioural and experiential methods within a gender and culturally sensitive framework.
Dr. Zomer’s primary clinical interests are in the area of positive psychology, specifically emotional intelligence and coping skills development. She is interested in helping individuals gain emotional regulation and coping skills when faced with interpersonal conflict and occupational stress. Her research suggests that gaining these skills leads to increased general life satisfaction and reduced levels of depression and anxiety.
